Summer 2021 Staff Bio’s
Alyse R “Toba” – Camp Director – COMING SOON
Charlotte C “Atlas” – Assistant Director – COMING SOON
Devyn M “Doodle” – Program Director
Hi my name is Doodle !
My relationship with the Mooredale Organization began when I was only four years old. The very first camp I went to was Mooredale Day Camp! From there, I participated in a variety of Mooredale House League sports and played competitive soccer for Mooredale for 10 years. With the influence that Mooredale had on my upbringing it only made sense to me to become part of the amazing staff that brought me those experiences. Starting as a house league soccer coach, I eventually became a counsellor at Mooredale Day Camp in 2018 and have been a member of staff ever since.
This summer, as MDC’s Program Director I will be delivering activities that ensure the safety of both campers and staff. I plan and organize many different daily programs, Wacky Wednesdays, theme days, and other fun activities for campers throughout the entire summer. Growing up with so many memories from Mooredale has made me want to bring the same experiences I’ve had to the community. Being a member of staff at Mooredale has only strengthened my appreciation for the association and pushes me to deliver the best experience for both campers and staff yet!
Kyle M “Kayak” – Operations Coordinator – COMING SOON
Our enthusiastic staff bring a variety of skills and knowledge to camp. Between our Senior Staff and Counselling Staff, we represent many, many years of camp experience. Together, we are committed to building a fun and engaging camp environment that fosters teamwork, confidence, and growth.
All of our Counsellors have a strong interest in children and their development, and demonstrate this through their dedicated care of the campers. Some of our staff have more than 10 years of experience, while others are just beginning in the exciting world of day camps for children. All of our staff have camp nicknames and are known only by these names at camp.
All Mooredale Camp Staff:
· Hold certification in First Aid and CPR;
· Complete Mooredale’s extensive pre-camp training program, including COVID-19 safety training.
· Are hired and evaluated based on the following 5 key areas: Love working with children, Creativity, Maturity & Responsibility, Optimism and Friendliness.
· OCA Accredited Mooredale Day Camp is proud to be accredited by the Ontario Camps Association. The OCA works to preserve, promote and enhance the camp experience for children and adults. Mooredale Day Camp has voluntarily submitted to an independent appraisal completed by camp experts and has met up to 300 health, safety and quality program standards, from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. OCA Accreditation is a parent’s best evidence of a camp’s commitment to health and safety. OCA website.
