2017 Flag Football

Mooredale SC is excited to announce some changes to our Flag Football program.  The season will run for 11 weeks, starting Sunday, September 10 (weekend after Labour Day weekend). The program includes: Combine Day, exhibition games, 6 regular season games, and 3 playoff games.  The program runs until November 26 (Grey Cup weekend!).

Proposed Divisions

U8 (2011/2010) - Learn to Play
Designed as an introduction to flag football, this program will teach players the fundamental skills required for the game.  Our technical staff will instruct players on throwing, catching, basic offence and defence, and other necessary skills.  Note: the weekly sessions will be focused on skill development, however there will also be scrimmages where players can test their skills out in a game setting.

U10 (2008/2009)
Includes a 30 minute practice immediately before the weekly game.

U12 (2007/2006)
Includes a 30 minute practice immediately before the weekly game.

U15 (2005/2004/2003)
Includes a 30 minute practice immediately before the weekly game.

Proposed Division Schedule

U8 (2011/2010) - Learn to Play - Sundays @ 11am-12:30pm

U10 (2009/2008) - Sundays @ 11am-12:30pm OR 12:30-2pm

U12 (2007/2006) - Sundays @ 12:30-2pm OR 2-3:30pm

U15 (2005/2004/2003) - Sundays @ 2-3:30pm OR 3:30-5pm

*Note: depending on the final number of teams in each division, an age group may use both time slots noted above.  If that's the case, then the teams will rotate between the earlier and later time slots.

*Note: this schedule is tentative and subject to change based on final registration numbers, permits, and facility availability.  Mooredale reserves the right to merge age groupings together in the case where a division is not viable due to registration numbers.

Combine Day

Combine Day provides our technical staff the opportunity to assess players (so we can try to create balanced divisions) and provide some instruction to players and coaches, and it serves as our kick-off for the season.

All players - whether new to the league or returning - are invited to attend Combine Day.

We'll send out an email to all registered players in the week before Combine Day to let them know about the schedule and what to expect.
