Sailing Lessons
Our club welcomes his new members by offering them more than 40 hours of sailing lessons conform to the CYA (Canadian Yacht Association) standards and taught by our professional CYA certified instructors. This training, "Learn to Sail" program, will cover safety, seamanship and boat handling in winds to 9 knots velocity and it will give you the sufficient theoretical knowledge and practical experience to obtain the CYA White Sail Level III Certificate.
There are four "Learn to Sail" sessions that run throughout the summer:
- White Sail Saturdays during May-June
- White Sail A during April-May
- White Sail B during June
- White Sail C during July
See White Sail Schedule for class hours and times.  While you are learning the basics of sailing in a friendly atmosphere, you will get familliar with the club and its members. You will also participate to different introductory programs, which include, an introduction to boat maintenance and repair involving fiberglass work, an introduction to racing which will be run by one of our top racer, and of course a full access to our clubhouse and its social activities. Beyond White Sail TrainingOnce your White Sail III certificate in hand, which usually takes 4 weeks, you will be able to use our club boats, learn boat specific seamanship, improve your sailing skills by casual sails or more organized training programs run by our members. Learn through RacingAt Mooredale, we have a tradition of sharing sailing tips openly, which made our club the place to become a great sailor! One of the best way to improve your sailing skill tremendously and to get the full experience of sailing is to participate to our race training and racing events. We have the TOP racers here at Mooredale, and you will for sure get to know them and learn a lot from them!
