Work Party #1 was great, #2 is coming up!
Dear Mooredalians,

Thank you to all who participated last weekend getting things started with the spring clean up. We made a dent in getting the clubhouse and some of the grounds ready for the season, and more work is required.
A lot of exciting things will be happening this Saturday April 24 and your help and dedication is always appreciated.

Some of the tasks are:

  • Gardening
  • Landscaping
  • Cleaning
  • Picnic Table Maintenance
  • Water Pump setup
  • Trench digging
  • Roof Flashing Maintenance

The tasks are first come first serve so if there is something you are keen on doing please come early :). I will be down there at 8:00 am and would love to see many of you there. Please bring a pair gardening gloves and a shovel if you have access to one.

Special thanks to Jason McVeigh, Paul Readings, Nancy Beiman, Helen Duncan, Merle  Kisbu and all the other great helpers.

MSC Club House Improvements - General Call for This Weekend!

1

mooredale_salon_de_mars02

Hey Everyone,

It was another busy weekend around the clubhouse with lots of worker bees!

So what we accomplished this weekend is huge.

We have moved the port-o-potties to a new discreet location.  Complete with the indoor solar lights attached as well as two outdoor motion sensor lights which will go on and light and flood the entire back area.

The garden shed was completely emptied and cleaned out, holes covered up and then shelves were reinstalled.  This area is only to be used for the storage of garden tools, lawn mower, edge trimmer, wheel barrel a small gas can that will be used for the gas equipment. In addition there are 3 ladders of various heights hung on the wall.

The wood pile has also been edited down to wood that can be burned and was cut to size.

The tool shed was completely given an overhaul, with every drawer checked to see that it actually houses what the outside of the drawer is labelled with. Any motor boat accessories have been moved to the gas locker next to the red barn.

The Red Barn which should only house small marks, lifejackets (which have been edited down to non molded ones). Lifejackets should always be hung by the loop on the back and the power washer with the extension cord suitable for the wattage it draws.

The house has begun its mini facelift.  The whiteboard was installed and the chalk board removed. Trim has been put around the windows.  Along the way we discovered that the corner of the house was missing almost all of its frame, thanks to hungry carpenter ants, was replaced and then it was insulated and plywood attached.

The gas locker was completely emptied and proper slated floor installed and then all the gas cans and any oils were restored.

The awning was removed, folded and stored properly for the winter. We watched the 21 keel boats come in who left us a nice pathway to the water.

So here is what we would like to get done this weekend:

  • Prepping, caulking, patching and priming of interior of clubhouse for preparation to paint
  • Removal of all vegetation on the roadside in front of the Port o potties so that they may be serviced properly (Ante will be starting and maybe finishing it this week)
  • A hole put in the fence see above
  • More electrical work (ie.making the light above the kitchen counter operational, putting the fan in the change room on a on off switch, remove any extraneous wiring, installing wall outlet behind fireplace)
  • Finish painting lockers in change room
  • Make hand painted signs to help identify buildings
  • Install mirror in the change room
  • Hang our sign on the fence
