Hello all you eager beavers… Well it is that time of year again when we have to pay the price to take advantage of the best summer ever down at the beaches of Mooredale. If you ever stood at the end of the dock and found water up to your ankles you may have thought to yourself…. HMMMMMM… Well so did we and that is why we will be updating the flotation on three sections of docks. This project will be a large undertaking. We are seeking 8-12 skilled labourers who are willing to give up a full weekend of otherwise boredom for the “Glory of the Docks”. The weekend of March 27 and 28 is that weekend. It will encompass two gruelling days of blood, sweat, and likely some tears. But when all done you will be standing on that dock with dry feet and you can tell yourself… “I am a Dock God”!
You should show up with a hammer, gloves, eye protection, old cloths and an appreciation for beatings!
We would also like to request the use of some tools. Anyone who can attend with the following tools will be addressed with preferential treatment and a guaranteed position in the “Docks of Glory”…
2 Sawzalls
4 Drills and Drill Bit Sets
6 Extension Cords
4 Ratchet Sets
12 Hammers
Spaces are limited. So please hurry and sign up with your very own Vice-Commodore… Jason.

Some of us are going to the Gladstone for a Brazilian fun nights, after this Friday night race. Feel free to join !
BATUCADA CARIOCA Presenting the heaviest, most grooviest, Brazilian Samba troupe on this side of the hemisphere, Batucada Carioca. Batucada Carioca are fresh with their 2010 summer repertoire and sure to get your emotions running high on the dance floor as the pulse of the surdos (bass drums) move your body and the tamborins lift your spirits. Add to this the melodic strumming of the cavaquinho, a bass and trombone, and you have a show worth more than gold.
Batucada Carioca is led by Maninho Costa from Rio de Janeiro. Maninho is born into the samba tradition, his uncle is Odilon Costa, perhaps the most famous samba master of Brazil. Around the world he is Brazil's ambassador to Rio style samba. This is the real deal.

The Downtown Waterfront Master Plan, which is currently being finalized, takes the competition-winning vision for the central waterfront and translates it into an action plan for implementation. The plan provides specific information about everything from the types of lighting and furniture that will be installed in the area to a description of how intersections will work on Queens Quay.
We need your input before presenting the master plan to Toronto City Council for formal endorsement. Waterfront Toronto will be holding focused workshops on three key topics in the master plan – marine infrastructure planning, wayfinding and signage, and programming/public art and heritage.
