Outdoor Hockey Weekly Wrap Up

Cup Day 2017-18 [March 5]

This past weekend saw the final games of the 2017-18 Mooredale Outdoor Hockey program as the season came to a close with Cup Day.  After a season's worth of exciting games, it was no surprise that Cup Day had its own share of excitement.

The day began with the semi-finals for the U14 age group, where the Leafs and Bruins battled hard to see who would advance to the final.  The Bruins emerged victorious and rode their momentum into the Championship Final where they were able to come out on top against a competitive Canadiens team in a penalty shootout.

Following the U14 age group's excitement, the U11s jumped on the ice to start their semi-final between the Leafs and Bruins.  Following in their older team's success, the U11 Bruins were also victorious in their semi-final and advanced to the Championship Final to face the Canadiens.  After a hard-fought, back and forth game, the Bruins emerged victorious over the Canadiens to win the Championship.

Cup Day wrapped up with our U9 Division final - a matchup between the Bruins & Canadiens.  Playing against a somewhat depleted Canadiens squad, the Bruins were able to capitalize and emerge as winners.

The weather may not have been cooperative this year, but we've enjoyed watching some great games and seeing the kids develop at practices.  Big thanks to all our volunteer coaches for helping us deliver the program, and of course all the parents who braved the cold (and sometimes rain!) on a weekly basis to cheer on the players.

We're already beginning our plans for next year's season, and would love to hear from you.  Please click here to complete our brief survey for the 2017-18 Mooredale Outdoor Hockey season.
