End of Week 2

The last three days of the week were a whirlwind of activity and fun. Wednesday was wacky-hair-wednesday and we saw some very interesting hairstyles, including our Junior Section Program Director Neon, who tied helium balloons to her pigtails! Our juniors made Strawberry Jam from scratch - it took them almost all morning! It was quite delicious. Our inter boys played cops & robbers and hula games while our inter girls had another beach-themed morning where they played sea tag and made beach art. Our senior campers were at Kelso Provincial Park - they went swimming in the lake, canoeing, tanned and played games on the beach, and went for a hike. Our tennis stream went to music and drama in the morning and made a music video. For lunch we ate beans, couscous, and broccoli. In the afternoon our juniors made rice krispie treats at cooking, our inter boys went on a nature hike at geoscience, our inter girls went to archery, and our Tennis stream campers went to the Rosedale Tennis Courts.

Thursday was our camp-wide field trip to Beach Blast! Beach Blast is an indoor beach park up near Downsview. Our day consisted of sand castles, beach volleyball, digging, beach-themed arts & crafts, tag, and many campers were even buried by their friends! (Just their bodies, of course). Our senior campers arrived back at the Mooredale House in the afternoon and were there to greet us when we arrived back!

On Friday morning our juniors played dodgeball and baseball. Our inter boys played circle games and also did tye-dyed their old white clothing! Our inter girls were able to do tye-dye as well. Our senior campers went on a nature scavenger hunt and played predator & prey at geoscience. For lunch we ate pizza as a special treat on the last day of the session. Yum! In the afternoon our juniors had a teddy bear picnic in the park! They each brought a teddy bear and they played games, sang songs, ate cookies, and coloured with chalk. Our inter boys went to archery and so did our inter girls. Our inter girls also made and drew habitats in geoscience. Our senior and tennis campers went to the Rosedale Tennis Courts for the afternoon. It is sad to see that session 1 has come to an end but it was a truly fantastic two weeks and we are so excited to begin session 2 and to greet both new and old faces!
